Trailing suction hopper dredgers for sale

Trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD) come in a great variety of sizes and can be used on a variety of marine construction and maintenance projects worldwide. They can work in both protected and unprotected waters.

TSHD applications include:

  • Capital dredging projects such as land reclamation that requires the movement of millions of cubic metres of sand.
  • Maintenance dredging of ports and channels where sand is removed to bring the waterbed to necessary depths
  • Beach replenishment where sand is pumped into the hopper and then placed onshore
  • Aggregate winning which involves the dredging and delivering of aggregate from mineral reserves. Vessels are equipped with rapid discharging systems to sort and grade materials and then convey the dry material within a short period.
