DSB Offshore Ltd represent buyers, Jackup GB, in purchase of Jack-up barge ‘Buzzard’

In March 2019 Jackup GB (JUGB) took possession of their new purchase, renewables and construction jack-up platform, ‘Buzzard’. ‘Buzzard’ was mobilised to the UK from Belgium in March. ‘Buzzard’ is the second jackup barge purchased from Geosea, part of the DEME Group, in the last two years via DSB Offshore Ltd.

Jackup GB is the UK’s leading provider of large construction barges with both ‘Commander’ (ex ‘De Zeebouwer’) and ‘Buzzard’ currently being the most capable barges in their class.

‘Buzzard’ is a 43m x 30m monohull design with a deck load capacity of 1300t, and a crane capacity of 750t. Standing on 4no. 55m long x 2.5m x 2.4m square legs she is able to operate in water depths of up to 30m which means that most offshore Round 1 and 2 wind farm sites can be accessed.
