Port Construction Jackups

Jack-ups are often used for piling and/or drilling for construction of piers or sea defences.

There are several advantages for using a jack-up for this type of work including:-

a) the ability to jack above any waves and ensure a stable platform for the work;

b) no mooring system to snag passing vessels;

c) remove any discomfort from the wash of passing vessels.

Some of the larger jack-ups are fitted with cranes with up to 250t capacity.

These jack-ups often have pile gates available or these can be fitted for complicated piling operations
